Where are they now?

               Chris Lamb

 

Chris has continued playing baseball in Queensland and since being on the BLE tour of Murrieta, has been extremely busy. Chris has twice represented Australia in the U/13 Cal Ripken World Series team, represented Australia in the AA U/17 World Cup where he won a bronze medal and again represented Australia in 2006 at the World Boys Tournament in Japan. Chris is a member of the Mudgeeraba Baseball Club on the Gold Coast and has just completed his second stint at the Major League Baseball Australian Academy Program. (Updated 29/9/06)


     Campbell Newman

 

Campbell continues to play baseball and has just returned from a tour of Japan representing Robina High School, where he is a member of the Baseball School of Excellence. Campbell has represented the Gold Coast on numerous occasions and plays for Mudgeeraba Baseball Club. He is a seasoned veteran of two BLE tours, and thoroughly enjoyed both his trips to the USA.    Nicholas Djorgonoski

 

Nicholas has represented Victoria in the Under 14 National Titles and has represented Diamond Valley in the VPBL. This year Nicholas was awarded MVP in the Diamond Valley region under 17’s competition, a great achievement as a bottom age player. Nicholas plays for Preston in the VBA and is hoping to be able to participate in another BLE tour. (Updated 5/10/06)

 

     Jim Crowe

 

Jim came back from Temecula with a new enthusiasm for baseball. He has since made the Victorian State Under 16 team. The team played in the national Championships in Mount Gambier in Jan 2006 where he batted .588. From there he made his association Rep team which played in Geelong. Jim was nominated to the 'All Star' Team as third base. Jim continues to play for Bonbeach Baseball Club in Melbourne. He plays Under 18 juniors in the mornings and is working towards a spot in the firsts with the seniors. What made Jim's trip to Temecula even more impressive is that he also took care of his father, Paul, whilst he was away. (Updated 5/10/06)

 

   Tristan, Elise and Jarryd Bannan

 

The Bannan family, Neil, Alison, Jarryd, Tristan and Elise toured Temecula in April 2005, with both Jarryd and Tristan playing against teams from the USA. Since then, Jarryd has continued playing baseball and this season won the U/17 batting award for his Winter club. Jarryd is currently completing his VCE and playing baseball with the mighty Preston Pirates. Tristan is also a Pirate and his team won the U/16 final in March this year. Tristan also plays cricket and baseball and is still an ardent Red Sox fan. Elise is playing hockey and tennis and the family is certainly a busy one with all the sporting commitments.    Glynn and Steve Morris

Steve, Glenda, Glynn, Rachael and Nicholas Morris toured Temecula on the 2003 April Big League Experience Tour. Glynn has continued playing and plays for Essendon and Watsonia Baseball clubs. Glynn has been a constant fixture in the Diamond Valley representative team and has also been selected in the Victorian Provincial U/14, U/16 and U/18 teams. In 2004 Glynn was the winner of the Junior Player of the Year for Watsonia. Rachael is a very talented Hockey player and represents the Essendon Ladies Club, and is also a member of the highly successful Wesley Lions Cheer Squad. Nicholas also plays baseball for Essendon and Watsonia and represents the Oak Park Football Club, where he won the Most Consistent award in 2006. Nicholas also won the Most Valuable Player Award for Watsonia Baseball Club U/13 in 2006. (Updated 17/11/06)
